If you’ve recently been in the office supplies section of any major retailer or watched a commercial with a bunch of dancing kids and teens, you already know what time it is: back-to-school season. While parents and guardians are seeking the latest and greatest tools for their best and brightest, I encourage you to make the most of this time of year by channeling your inner child’s creativity to bring new energy to your digital content by using GIFs.
As a team member at a fast-paced PR firm where being nimble is key, my day-to-day activities are ever in flux. One constant, however, is the need for exceptional visual assets that capture the attention of my clients’ audience.
Lately, I’ve been inspired to implement kinetic energy into some of the content I create for clients by using the Graphics Interchange Format, better known as GIFs. No matter how you choose to pronounce it, over the last few years GIFs have rapidly grown in popularity as a way to convey complex emotions. But did you know the GIF isn’t new? Fun fact: the GIF button was added to Facebook comments on the day that the GIF celebrated its 30th birthday.
With all art, it’s essential to respect any copyright restrictions. While paid options may be top of mind, each visual campaign should consider royalty-free options that add depth to content without adding to the budget.
