Ask Zuck. Mark Zuckerberg, Facebook’s founder, will be hosting the social network’s first public Q&A on Thursday, November 6 at 2 p.m. PT (5 p.m. ET). You can submit your question by commenting on his announcement post. You can also vote on a question that you want Zuck to answer by liking the comment.

Time to take down the like-gate. As announced earlier this year, Facebook will no longer allow Pages to place content behind a like-gate. This means that you cannot incentivize people to use social plugins or to like a page. This includes offering rewards or gating apps or app content based on whether or not a person has liked a page.

Tune in for Pub in Pub. Facebook is premiering a weekly video interview series called Pub in Pub, produced by its Creative Shop and its global marketing team to showcase how brands can create campaigns on the social network. Pub in Pub will feature interviews with marketing and agency execs in their favorite bar highlighting how they have seen success with Facebook and Instagram campaigns.

Facebook transforms the news. The New York Times spoke with Facebook engineer facebook journalism newsGreg Marra about the changing way adults in the U.S. consume news and the role Facebook plays in this transformation. An interesting fact shared in this article: 30 percent of adults in the U.S. glean their news primarily on Facebook. Marra went on how to say that his team of about 16 adjusts the complex computer code that decides what to show a user when he or she first logs on to Facebook.

Brands with Klout. Klout, a website and app that uses social media analytics to rank its users according to online social influence, has published its first list of the 50 global brands with the most influence and engagement. Can you guess which brand tops the list?

Taco Bell goes dark. Taco Bell removed everything from its social media channels and website to promote its new ordering and payment app. A hashtag informed visitors that the new way to access Taco Bell is #onlyintheapp. The move paid off, as the new app cracked the top 25 most downloaded apps in the U.S.
