RoseComm is thrilled to announce our inclusion on NJBiz’s “In the Lead: Best Women-Owned Businesses“ list. NJBiz is a leading voice in New Jersey business news. Selected by the editorial staff, In the Lead companies “help to make New Jersey a better place to live, work and do business.”
For a boutique PR firm based in Maplewood, New Jersey, this designation is more than just a shoutout to the woman who owns our company; it’s a celebration of the talented team of communications professionals who bring our clients’ stories to life every day. Some have been with us for six years, others for over 20 — and we wouldn’t be who we are without them.
Rosemary Ostmann founded RoseComm in Hoboken in August 2003, with encouragement from her former boss and mentor, Chuck Donofrio, who told her it was time she ran her own show.
Twenty-two years later, RoseComm has thrived, continuously adapting to the changing media landscape while always remaining true to the core values Rosemary put in place on Day 1: exceptional work through consistent senior-level engagement and a deep commitment to both strategy and execution.
With a diverse client roster, including a long history supporting businesses in the education, healthcare, and non-profit sectors in New Jersey and beyond, RoseComm has won numerous industry awards and Rosemary herself has been recognized for her expertise and leadership. Among those honors are being named 2020 “PR Professional of the Year 2020” by the Public Relations Society of New Jersey and “PR Professional Who Makes a Difference” at the 2022 Bulldog PR Awards.
She and members of RoseComm’s team have used their ceaseless energy to raise up non-profit organizations doing amazing things in her local community.

Rosemary is a founding board trustee of The Maplewood Foundation, which since 2023 has raised more than $1.5 million in support of local charitable organizations. RoseComm, with Rosemary’s pro bono involvement, supports the South Orange/Maplewood Community Coalition on Race, a nationally recognized non-profit committed to building a unique, suburban community free of racial segregation in housing patterns and community involvement. And most recently, the team helped re-open the Maplewood Memorial Library, which underwent a $24 million renovation and will soon become the state’s first LEED Gold-certified public library.
RoseComm could not be prouder of the work we’re doing and the fact that NJBiz took notice. Here’s to more successes ahead!
