The RCHN Community Health Foundation Taps Rose Communications to Build Comprehensive Communications Program

NEW YORK (July 12, 2007) – The RCHN Community Health Foundation, the only foundation in the country dedicated exclusively to community health centers, has retained Rose Communications, an independent, strategic public relations firm. Rose Communications will promote the young foundation to key constituents and lay the communications groundwork to help the organization achieve its mission.

Formed in 2005, the RCHN Community Health Foundation (RCHN CHF) is a not-for-profit operating foundation focused on supporting the work of community health centers nationally. Community health centers, the local, non-profit healthcare providers that offer comprehensive care to underserved populations, play a crucial role in the healthcare delivery system. The Foundation evolved out of a New York City-based network consisting of a multi-site community health center, management services organization and managed care plan. Rose Communications will leverage the organization’s 40-year track record of success in the community health arena to establish the Foundation as a driver of positive, sustainable change for the industry. Rose’s program for RCHN CHF includes positioning, web site content development, training, influencer and media outreach, and ongoing communications counsel.

“We conducted a competitive review of agencies and selected Rose Communications because they demonstrated a thorough understanding of our organization and our objectives. They had relevant experience, but even more importantly, we were attracted to their creative and thoughtful approach,” said Feygele Jacobs, executive vice president of RCHN CHF. “We are confident in their ability to help us navigate the road ahead.”

Rose Communications has a diverse array of experience in the healthcare and non-profit arenas, including work on behalf of the Centers for Medicare and Medicaid Services, the federal agency that administers the Medicare and Medicaid programs, and Campaign for Our Children, a national teen pregnancy prevention program.

“We’re excited to partner with an organization doing such meaningful work,” said Rosemary Ostmann, chief executive officer and president of Rose Communications. “We look forward to helping the Foundation’s leaders articulate their vision and build a lasting connection with their audiences.”

The RCHN CHF is led by Julio Bellber, a nationally renowned leader of the health center movement. The Foundation concentrates its work in three areas that are of critical importance to community health centers and their underserved patients: health access, affordable prescription drugs, and health information technology. Through strategic investments and partnerships in research, education and advocacy, RCHN CHF is helping to address community health centers’ unique challenges.
