My focus @ RoseComm

Working with the team to create thoughtful, shareable content

Years in the biz

Am I supposed to differentiate between public relations and journalism here? I’m comparatively new to one, deeply experienced in the other and approach both of them with the same creativity, passion and commitment to sharing a good story, no matter the form.

Why get up in the morning?

To be creative. My father was a lifelong photographer and painter who, when he passed, left a legacy of art. That seems like a solid plan. Whether in writing or via photography/videography, or even in creating oddly amusing moments for my family, I’m driven to create that which is meaningful, interesting and memorable.

Cool things I’m working on

  • Learning the ups, downs, ins and outs of drone photography and videography
  • Getting the word out about New Jersey’s best new restaurant
  • Championing New Jersey’s historic bail reform legislation

Past life

As a sports business reporter for Bloomberg News, I spent 20 years at the forefront of multimedia journalism. My first decade at Bloomberg was dedicated to AV reporting, production and still photography, covering just about every major North American sports event while sprinkling in occasional radio updates and TV segments. I then transitioned to the print side, writing about the intersection of sports and business for another decade, and illustrating my own work whenever possible. I’m lucky to have been one of few reporters with both print and photographic work in dozens of major newspapers.
