2015, the year of the messaging app. Predictions are in for 2015 and we hear loud and clear that messaging apps will come up big in the New Year. From Line to Facebook Messenger, brands are beginning to see great success on these platforms. The Pinstitute is open for enrollment.Pinstitute”, a new program to help businesses begin advertising on Pinterest, is rolling out to select brands. The Pinstitute has two tracks: creative and measurement. Companies will learn what kinds of Pins perform the best, what Pinners love, and how Pinterest is planning for the future. A series of webinars and other online tools will be available to all advertising partners soon.

Snapchat ads won’t vanish. A recent study commissioned by Snapchat discovered that users are reacting favorably to Snapchat ads. Snapchat Brand Story, an advertising option unveiled in October 2014, allows users to watch up to 20 seconds of an advertisers’ photo and video content. In November, Snapchat opened up the ability for advertisers to sponsor Our Stories, collections of user-submitted photos and video, typically surrounding a live event. Researchers found that 60% of ‘Our Stories’ and 44% of ‘Brand Stories’ viewers enjoyed the ads.

Facebook speaks your language. Facebook acquired Wit.ai, a speech recognition start-up. Wit.ai is a platform that makes it easy for developers to build apps that understand natural language. Will we see Facebook’s version of Siri soon?
